Personal statement

A personal statement refers to any topics that refers to oneself. Possible topics but not limited to are: Self-introduction, study goal, career goal, reason for applying for the chosen program, plan for contribution to the university, challenges in the past

Given topic

A given topic refers to any topics that the school defines that students have to write about. Typically it involves topics related to the program the applicant has chosen. Sometimes the choice is left to the students to choose an appropriate topic to write about related to the program of their choice.
